For the past several years, the Data Governance Institute (DGI) has been incubating an online library of curated case studies, best practices, policies, standards, and other resources used by managers and staff of Data Governance and Management programs. That offering, says DGI president and founder Gwen Thomas, is ready to “graduate” into its own, independent resource. And in doing so, the library is both expanding its collection and lowering its admission price - to free.
The Data Manager’s Public Library will be run by DGI alum Amy Klutz. The new site will continue to offer resources from the DGI collection, will be easier to navigate, and will feature new specialized collections such as Healthcare, Government, Education and Sciences, and Business. Another exciting feature will be a comprehensive Industry Events Calendar. The Data Manager’s Public Library will be located at www.DataManagersLibrary.com.
“We at DGI are so excited for Amy and for the users of this library,” says DGI president and founder Gwen Thomas. “As a mission-based organization, DGI has helped launch a number of activities and resources. It’s absolutely the right thing for this collection to move to a new home, offered by someone who has demonstrated passion for giving Information Management and Governance practitioners the resources they need to be successful.”
“The Data Manager’s Public Library will continue to offer materials from the DGI,” adds Klutz, “as well as from other thought leaders and practitioners. In the past, our users have told us that our collections have saved them dozens of hours of searching. We’re glad to continue this service and to support the ever-growing number of information-hungry information managers.”
The Data Manager’s Public Library www.DataManagersLibrary.com will be up and running soon but until that time the Community of Practice will continue to provide members with full access to its resources.
